GTA 6 countdown to the November 19 release

Rockstar confirmed the date. It has not announced a time of day — this GTA 6 countdown is clear about which is which.

What this counts to

What this GTA 6 countdown counts to

The date is confirmed

Grand Theft Auto VI releases on November 19, 2026, on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Rockstar has confirmed that date and has not moved it since.

The time of day is not

Rockstar has never announced what time GTA 6 unlocks. No official unlock time exists yet, so any countdown showing one is presenting a guess as a fact.

So this GTA 6 countdown runs to midnight UTC

The timer above targets 00:00 UTC on November 19 — a convention chosen here, not a time Rockstar published. It moves to the real one the day there is a real one.

When the GTA 6 countdown reaches zero where you are

Midnight UTC lands on a different clock in every region, and on the previous day across the Americas.

Has the GTA 6 release date moved before?

The GTA 6 release date has moved twice, and both times Rockstar announced it rather than letting a date pass.

Revealed in 2023 for “2025”

Trailer 1 arrived on December 4, 2023 and ended on a window rather than a date: 2025. That was all Rockstar committed to for the next seventeen months, and it is the window the first delay moved out of.

May 2025 — the first specific date

On May 2, 2025 Rockstar replaced the 2025 window with May 26, 2026. It was a delay and a promotion at once: the game slipped by a year and acquired an exact day for the first time.

November 2025 — the date this GTA 6 countdown runs to

On November 6, 2025, alongside Take-Two’s quarterly results, May 26 became November 19, 2026. Rockstar gave the reason as needing the time to finish the game to the standard it expects of itself.

What that history is worth as a prediction

Nothing, on its own. Rockstar has moved a date before — GTA 5, Red Dead Redemption 2 and Max Payne 3 all shipped later than first announced — but a pattern is not an announcement, and this GTA 6 countdown runs to the only date the studio is currently standing behind. It has held since November 2025.

Every GTA 6 date Rockstar has confirmed

Each of these comes from a Rockstar announcement rather than a retailer listing or a report.

  1. Pre-orders opened
  2. An Extended Look
  3. Release date
  4. Pre-order bonus deadline

What arrives when the GTA 6 countdown ends

Two editions, one bonus, and a deadline that falls after release rather than before it.

Two GTA 6 editions, no collector tier

  • Standard Edition, $79.99 — The complete single-player game — Jason and Lucia’s story across Leonida.
  • Ultimate Edition, $99.99 — Adds an exclusive collection of premium vehicles, weapons and apparel threaded through the campaign.

The pre-order bonus outlives launch day

Every pre-order on either edition includes the Vintage Vice City Pack, at any retailer, and orders placed up to November 20, 2026 still qualify — the day after release rather than the day before it.

What Rockstar has not announced

Three things a GTA 6 countdown cannot tell you, because no official answer exists yet.

An unlock time

Covered above, and worth repeating because it is the one people assume: there is no official hour. A countdown that shows one has chosen it.

A PC version, or a date for one

None has been announced. GTA 5 reached PC about nineteen months after its console release and Red Dead Redemption 2 followed a similar path, but precedent is not a commitment, and none has been made here.

Any platform beyond PS5 and Xbox Series X|S

There is no PlayStation 4 or Xbox One release. GTA 5 spanned three console generations over its life; this one was a current-generation title from the announcement onward.
