Sony revealed two limited-edition GTA 6 DualSense wireless controllers on September 3, 2026: one black, one white, and both built around the colours and palm trees of Vice City.
They launch alongside Grand Theft Auto VI on November 19. Pre-orders begin September 10, with a recommended price of $84.99 in the United States.
What PlayStation announced
Two colours, one design
The Grand Theft Auto VI Black Limited Edition turns the controller’s shell almost entirely black, with a blue-to-purple centre and pink face-button symbols. The White Limited Edition uses the same centre colours and symbols against a white shell.
Both carry the GTA VI logo across the touch pad. Palm-frond lines are moulded into the grips rather than printed over them, and Sony describes the blue, purple and pink finish as colour-shifting — built to move between a Vice City sunset and its neon after dark.
The price and release date
Each controller has a recommended retail price of:
- $84.99 in the United States
- €84.99 in Europe
- £74.99 in the United Kingdom
- ¥12,480, including tax, in Japan
Both start launching on November 19, 2026, the same day as GTA 6. Sony warns that the exact date and availability can vary by country or region.
When GTA 6 controller pre-orders open
September 10 in the United States
US pre-orders open through PlayStation Direct at 7:00 AM Pacific / 10:00 AM Eastern on September 10. Sony calls the stock limited and does not say how many of either colour will be made.
The two colours do not have identical distribution
The White Limited Edition is due at PlayStation Direct and participating retailers worldwide. The Black Limited Edition is exclusive to PlayStation Direct in countries where that store operates; Sony says select retailers will carry it in other regions.
PlayStation Direct currently serves the United States, United Kingdom and a named group of European countries. The announcement does not give a retailer, price or order time for every other market, so a local listing is the only reliable confirmation outside those countries.
What changes when you play GTA 6
Haptic feedback and adaptive triggers
PlayStation says GTA 6 uses the DualSense controller’s haptic feedback and adaptive triggers, with resistance changing in response to the action. The PlayStation Store also lists vibration and trigger effects for the game.
Those are GTA 6 features on DualSense, not bonuses exclusive to these two designs. Sony announced a new exterior, not a different controller specification, and did not name any function unavailable on a standard DualSense.
This is not a PS5 console bundle
The announcement covers two controllers sold separately. Sony did not announce a GTA 6 PS5 or PS5 Pro console, console plates, a game bundle or a controller packaged with the game.
The controllers do not include a copy of GTA 6. The game itself remains a separate pre-order in Standard and Ultimate editions.
What has not been announced
No Brazil price yet
Sony’s announcement publishes prices for the US, Europe, UK and Japan, but no price in Brazilian reais and no named Brazilian retailer. The White model is described as globally available in limited quantities; that wording is not a Brazilian store listing.
No production numbers
“Limited quantities” is as specific as Sony gets. It has not published the number of units, a purchase limit, or whether either colour will be restocked after November 19.
No GTA 6 Xbox controller
This reveal is a PlayStation announcement about DualSense. Neither Rockstar nor Microsoft has announced a GTA 6 limited-edition Xbox controller.
